A Journey of healing and peace

this is a story of an ending journey in life of my friends dad. karen.

We have an angel watching over us now.

Karen is my spiritual best friend. Our friendship starts way back as her daughter Shaina and my daughter JOYCE were classmates in Saint Catherine.

We are bonded by the Holy Spirit with our prayers and experiences in the Charistmatic Renewal Community

At present, we are together in one household in Couples for Christ.

Last April her father got stroke and was send in the emergency room in Kaiser.

His brain was damaged from the stroke and underwent an operation.

He was in and out of the Hospital in some cases in the ICU.

Many prayers for his healing made him well. I visited him in the hospital and game him a cross from Jerusalem. He always carry it even went he is send to the ICU.

Last month of his life he was send at home to recover,

He was in bed being watched by members of the family.

No more IV connected in his vain only feeding tubes.

His memory seems like affected, there are times he thought he was still in the philippines.

Early October his condition improved, his feeding and appreciation became better.

Our parish priest came to visit him and gave him confession and blessing.

Karen told me to gave him communion which I did.

On my third week from the time I gave him communion he became more alert

I was even surprised when he was able to recite the apostles creed without mistake.

I really cannot believed that because some patients in the same condition cannot even talk.

November 7 Shaina’s birthday, me and my wife Carol got there to his grandpas house to celebrate.

We ate and later Shaina brought her cake at the bed of his grandpa.

He was happy, everybody was there. I told them how he was able to recite the apostles creed and he repeated it again.

We stayed there and prayed. We sang Tagalog church song and he sang with us in his heart.

Prayed over each one of them and give Shaina and his boy Friend a rosary.

Karen told his dad that she will be the one who will give him his Holy Communion next week

That morning I went to church at 8 am to assist Karen to bring communion to his father,

The father was resting so we did not wake him up to give communion.

Later on Karen gave him the communion and prayed over his Father.

At around 1 pm Karen called me and said his father passed away and wanted a priest to blessed him before he is sent to the funeral.

I immediately went to church at Saint Catherine

To my relief, Father Bong was there and willing to go with us. He brought his car and followed us.

The family of Mr. Romeo Sunga was there all quite as the prayers and blessings for the death is being administered,

His body lies in bed with a very peaceful face.

He was just like sleeping.

Prayers was solemn, Carol was on the kitchen taking care of the Karen children.

I feel like the angels and the Saint was there as Father ask them to pray for him.

During the blessings Father Bong told each one to put a sign of the cross in his forehead.

This I will never forget.

Before Father left, he told the family that he is there to assist if they need him.

Reflecting on this.

There will always be story of life and will be a story of one’s death.

Getting ready is the key.

Building a strong foundation of faith and love today till the end of time

am not sure if I will be able to get a priest that time but the Lord was there listening to our prayers.

Father Bong gave a very solemn prayer for your Apu Daddy.

Everything was in peace, He was just in there sleeping and when father was calling the names of the Saints, deep in my heart they are there with us.

It’s my first time to experience such blessings for a departed one, sprinkling of the Holy Water and our sign of our cross to your Apu Daddy forehead.

Now I realized how important to put a sign of the cross in blessings and healing.

As I received this message I went immediately to our parish church.

I chance upon Father Bong going out of the Church after the 12 noon mass. He was a guest priest and was about to leave

got his Car and followed me.

Message to Shainna

This morning I just can’t helped but asked your Apu Daddy and Brother Dean to asked the Lord for my healings.

Do the same. They are now watching us.

Be strong Shaina.

Be there to your Dad, Mom and your siblings.
