For many years, I take time to share my reflection. It is in this reflection that I see my inner me, my thoughts on present realities. But is this the Real me? It take time to build the real you. It’s all in your hand, we are just a clay. we create our life on what we are now. Life is not perfect, it’s full of trials and challenges. It’s full of crack we fall down but need to stand up. Fix ourself and move forward. We can deceive others but cannot deceive yourself. The other side of you. This is a your cross, and the only way to change it is when we allow God to help us in our cross in our struggles and in our sufferings. Look at the mirror. Ask yourself, Is this what the Lord wants me to be? Have I grown to be like Him. Merciful, cheerful Giver, humble, Caring, loving, peace maker, compassionate, grateful. Someday we shall be gone in this world, but honestly, it shall be the relationship that you have with people, your family, friends, your community that shall be your greatest legacy and the best judge is History. Being your true self is when you start to walk your talk. One step at a time and the first step is to find Jesus in our life. Without God we are nothing.
I wrote this note, many years ago and I reposting it to let others know how greatful am I to know God more after our PILGRIMAGE in Holy Land last September this year,
The Lord is alive! we just need to seek Him and make Him part of your life, I am not saying I am perfect follower of the Lord. There are trials in my life and spiritual struggle but I continues hold on to Him and this trials made me more stronger in my faith to Him.
Just last week Father Michael Fernandez told us in reflecting for today’s gospel that we seek him in our hearts, in our own home. We need not have to look for him in a grandeur place.
- It is in our inner self that the Lord will talk to us, ask Him and He will lead you.
In the late 80’s and early 90’s was so much enrage with the Church involvement in politics in the Philippines. It was that time that we are propagating filipinism but as we are doing it slowly I am turning away from my church. It just happened that I was invited to a music fest in Araneta collesium. Never did I realized that it will change my life. Did not know it was a charismatic praised and healing mass. There was a priest who raised the Holy Host and There I saw people being slained by the Holy Spirit. When it was pointed in my direction I felt the Lord touch my heart and changed me. The only thing I said was Lord have mercy …
I was just happy to experience this again. TJhe Lord is just awesome as when I was about to migrate for the US.symbolically he reconcile me with Cardinal Sin
I was elected as a youth Leader in the community way back in the 80’s. One speaker told us to build a legacy, a good name that will make your children be proud of you. As years went by, I became aware of the meaning of my existence. I am here to serve the community and my country. To be an agent of change, be an inspiration of the youth and lastly to work to protect and conserved Nature which became one of my Advocacy. John4Nature. Magkapit Kamay para sa Kalikasan. Let Us Join Our Hands for Nature. Service is a part of my life and been enjoying to be in a community. In 2000 I left the philipines and migrated to the United States. This is a new world for me and there is something I am thankfu for, it gave me more time for my family. Let us all treasure the quality time for the family. Life is different here in America it is a unending work. So greatful that I am part of couples for Christ with my family knowing in any time I will be called by the Lord, there is somebody that they can hold on. The greatest Father in this world. Our Father in heaven, He is the reason for Living. To know Him, Love Him and to serve HIm. salute all father’s they deserved to be honored, it is my prayer may they continue to be the priest of their families.
It amazes me to see families go to confession. There were about 50 because there are parents, siblings and children getting in line. Reflecting on this. Maybe we need to do the same, next time we go together as a family so that each one of us will experience peace and happiness within. It is a good way to receive grace from our Lord. When was the last time you went to confession. It’s about time. It’s hard but fulfilling. Posted a lot of pictures of my past. It’s about helping the youth, doing something about the community and the environment. Life is not just about helping and doing good. We are all called to evangelized. It should start from us. God is alive and he talks us in a lot of ways. A lot of people knows when they listen. It start in our hearts.
My daughter attended a retreat this weekend that made me so happy. This time as one of the servants youth volunteer catechist that helped this year’s confirmation class at St. Catherine. Indeed, my baby has grown up with a life with Jesus in her heart. It humbles me. For me that would be one of an achievement that any parent should have. Bringing their children to God. To know Him, Love Him and to serve Him. Children are such hope and gift to the world.
As she grew up, she always prayed and knowing that, makes me feel so blessed. Believing that in any time She has God to lean on in all her trials, failings, and success. I just wish she would continue to be responsible as she is. She told me last night after the weekly confirmation meeting that when parents go home from work so tire, we rest. In her case, after school, she play her sports, she have this, then still have to do some homework. She was not complaining. Maybe she was just wondering how she has been able to do this all this time. In silence, only with Jesus who comforts her.
She has her own world. I cannot push something that I wanted all the time. She has her ways. Just happy she choose Jesus as one of her priorities.
There are lot of avenue for our children to grow spiritually, Christian Youth Ministry in our parishes, we have Youth for Christ and Kids for Christ Ministry in our Couples for Christ Ministry.
Start them young. This opportunity should open up starting from us.
Parents. Let us give some rest in the arms of Jesus. Our greatest Achievement is living ourselves as a better parent, better husband and wife. We can’t really do this without God in the center of everything.
Ewan ko bakit tayong Filipino ay dapat magpatayan dahil sa ating iba’t ibang paniniwala. Ideological, kaisipan o relihiyon. Can we embrace oneness for our love to our country. We have seen what is happening in Iraq. They are killing each other because of Isis. With the recent encounter between PNP SAF officers and men with our muslim brothers. It just bleed my heart so with the families of those wounded and killed on both sides. When will this end the Ambush, retaliation, evacuation, bombing, kidnapping, murder. mass murder. We need to deeply reflect on what we want. War or peace. Wanting to inflict pain among our brother filipinos. What does our school need to teach us. That we should love one another. What does our church, our leaders, our priest our muslim elders must teach our youth. Love one another. What happen in Zamboanga can happen again elsewhere. Until now people there are suffering. Christian and Muslim alike. Are there winners in this war. Yes the maker of our weapons. The leaders on both sides who get support monetarily to wage this war. Who are the losers. Those children who lost their father, mother, brother and other members of the family. They will never be complete. Looking at the profile of our Muslim youth fighters. They are the same Juan de la cruz who go to school and colleges. They have their dream to raise their own families. They have their own babies. Girlfriends and families. I saw their arms. On my, it’s different, more powerful than what our SAF have. What do they have in their fight. The Koran. This is a reality. We have an extremist jihad that is a killing machine. Win them back or loose our country. That should be the mindset of each one in the peace process panel. If we continue to allow the extremist to thrive in our communities we need to think again. This will not work. To end this war. We need to embrace political, ideological and spiritual oneness. We need to change our mindset on what we see among our Filipino brothers. Who are the enemies. Sila bang katulad mo Juan de la cruz, mga classmates mo. Kapitbahay mo na may ibang relihiyon at paniniwala o kaya ang pamahalaan at ang sambayan na dyan kadamay natin pag may kalamidad. You are in you own community, you work, you go to school like every other kids. That is freedom. kalaban mo ay ang sarile mo na nagsasabing ako ay Tama. Tamang pumatay sa ating kapwang filipino. Learn from the experience in Syria, Iraq, their land is full of blood. Have mercy on them. As what the Pope said let us pray for one another. Be an instrument of peace
